Wherever you go in Vermont you will be in picturesque an sometimes stunning scenery. Each area has its own character and each appears at least somewhat independent of the other. Vermonters in general don't travel around their state very much. This is partly because of the road system which makes it difficult to go from the extreme northeast to the extreme southwest. It is easier to go north and south on both sides of the state.
