Circus Smirkus was founded in 1987 by Rob Mermin, a former clown. From simply being a small rural kids circus, it has grown over the years to become a well known entity in the circus world. In the summer of 2002 Circus Smirkus toured 16 towns across New England and New York with 37 performers and an almost 40-member support crew. This second panorama was also taken at the end of the summer 2002 tour. Somehow the Greensboro, Vermont base reflects the circus's true rural nature. Where else but Vermont would one drive down a half mile unpaved road, deep into the woods and then suddenly come into a clearing and find a circus!
