My Trip

Hello! I will be making my third trip to Vermont! My last two trips were during a period where the foliage was nonexistent (November and April). I will be traveling to the Northeast from September 21st to September 25th. I will spend my first two days in the Lanaudiere area of Quebec (north of Montreal), the third day in the NEK, and my last few days at Mount. Mansfield. My question is this, will I have ANY change in color during Sept. 23-25, and to what extent? My second question is regarding Quebec...will that particular area be "peaking" around that time? Thank you for the info!!

Quebec's Eastern Townships should be close to peak during the dates you mention. Head to the Magog area. It's on the Eastern Townships Auto Route out of Montreal. Magog is a terrific tourist town with about 30 restaurants on main street. My favorite is Jessie's. While you are in the area, check out North Hatley, Ayer's Cliff and perhaps Coaticook. Other areas you might like are Sutton, and Owl's Head.

All these areas are within about 20 minutes from the border.

Your best foliage in Vermont could be in the Island Pond area - that's about a half hour east of I-91. If it is past peak, head south towards East Burke and the Burke Mountain area. Don't miss Lake Willoughby!

Thanks a million!In Quebec, i'll be about 60 km north of the area you mentioned. The "Magog" area is part of the route I am taking into Vemont. It should
be beautiful...even if it rains. I've been to Lake Willoughby during the early spring. I will definitely check out that area again. Again thanks for the info!
