It's one area I have always wanted to go to but I haven't seen any reports from there...?

I only went down as far as Tunbridge last Sunday and it looked early. I've e-mailed the "super" at the new Sharon Welcome Center about Woodstock. Hopefully I'll have an answer tomorrow.

Thanks pwt.

Early meaning still green or is it that drab/half-dead we've been seeing in other areas out central east? ;)

I was there yesterday afternoon. I took the river road from Taftsville to Woodstock and most of the leaves on the trees along the river were already off (from the weekend storm?). I took Cloudland Road to Pomfret and there were some areas that were very nice. I went on down to Jenne Farm to scout it out. There was a sign on the big tree and a colleciton box where most of the shots of the farm are taken. The sign basically said sorry for the poor foliage season. Based on that and the other reports, I went north today. Great color at Smugglers Notch, Hazens Notch and over toward East and West Burke. I even had some peeks at blue sky! If only tomorrow and Friday would give us some of that...

Thanks for the report, rwh. Guess we'll have to see what things look like in a few days once this latest storm passes....
