I will be in Rutland Oct. 12 - 14. Has the rain changed how things are progressing? Are my best bets for my photography still slightly North and east of Rutland for these dates?

Or am I looking to go south and in the higher elevations down there?

I would work south and west of Rutland. Routes 30,133, and 140 favorites of mine. I f you want covered bridges, take route 3 from route 4 in Center Rutland past Proctor viilage. Look for the Gorham Bridge Road on the left side of RT.3 about a mile north of the village. Go by Elm Street on the right and you will come to the bridge. Turn around and take Elm Street for the next Bridge. Continue Elm ST. to the end at route US 7 in Pittsford and turn left. Go about 1/4 mile and look for Depot Street on the left just past the store. Drive through the bridge and when Depot ST. ends, turn right and head for Florence. At the north end of the village you go through a stone Railroad overpass and bear right. Look for the next bridge on the right side. Go look at the bridge then turn around and come back to this road and turn right. This road will continue paved until you go past the Dean Road on the right side, then it turns to dirt and changes it's name to the High Pond Road. Drive the High Pond RD. until you come to the Marshall Phillips Road on the right side. Drive the Marshall Phillips RD. about 1/2 mile and look for the Short Swamp Road on the right side. Drive the Short Swamp RD. to the end at the Long Swamp Road and turn right. Drive the Long Swamp Road through the bridge and finish at the junction of routes US 7 and 73. This probably won't take all day, so you may want to take route 73 west to route 30 south in Sudbury and turn left. Drive route 30 south throught Sudbury village and look for route 73 west on the right side. Drive route 73 west to the junction of route 22A in Orwell. Route 73 west continues straight across route 22A. Drive route 73 west to the end at route 74 east and turn right. Drive route 74 east to route 22A south in Shoreham and turn right. Drive route 22A south about and look for the Richville Road on the left side. Drive the Richville Road to route 30 in Whiting, then take the road on the other side of route 30. This is the Leicester/Whiting Road and it goes to the Arnold District Road where you turn right to get back to route US 7 in Brandon. Turn right to get back to Rutland. Have fun!
