Excellent, just excellent. I always loved Wheeler Pond. Island Pond looks the best I have seen it in years. Hope to see you guys soon somewhere! CT

I am guessing that because of rain and wind, the NEK will be past peak by Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, 10/5-7. Never been to VT, except for a business trip to Burlington, and was looking forward to visiting NEK area to hike and view foliage, particularly the reds/vibrant oranges of maple trees. Is most of the state past peak for these colors? Any suggestions on an area of the state to head to this coming Sun-Tuesday? Thanks for photos w/ their locations. That's helpful to see.

EMK I was in the Peacham area today and the weather was very hard on the trees. Most of the good color is gone, however I think southern Vermont could be good by Sunday. Possibly the Woodstock area would be getting to peak.

Hey EmK, this Sun-Tues may be good in southern Vt, around Rt 9 Bratt-Benn and south. I went through there today, color was good, a bit of leaf drop from the winds, but plenty left on the trees, with some green spots still to pop.

I did the drive yesterday from killington to I-91 via Route 4 and Route 12 through Woodstock. Very little color and alot of bare trees. The best foliage color was from Route 100/4 to Shelburne Pass. Very pretty, but difficult to stop along that busy road. More rain today, may push killington even more past peak. In 30 + years of foliage viewing, I never remember Killington being past peak on October 1st.

Thank you, MntnClmbrMatt, Calguy, and Loafer89, for your insight and suggestions. We'll focus on the very southern part of VT, spend a night, and hope we're there in time to see some color. I do appreciate your help.
