If you are in the extreme northwest corner of CT, I would try Canaan, Salisbury, Lakeville, Colebrook and route 22 around Millerton and Armenia NY. The twin lakes in Salisbury should be nice and route 44 in Canaan has mountains on the south side as you are traveling towards East Canaan that should have good color by now.... Climb up Haystack Mountain to the tower for views of four states.
We are expecting cold temps all next week. Northern and northcentral CT should be primed for good color and progressing down to the shoreline the week after.

Re: Visitor from California - help needed to time foliage viewing for Southern VT
Sorry - it took me a while to respond. Last Sunday was mostly spent in covering the Berkshires (7, 183, 23). Colors were coming along nicely, but perhaps I was early by a few days. Also, lots of bare branches. But overall, no complaints. There were always surprises waiting round the corner of a back road
No keepers from this trip, but here are a few samplings of what I saw:
Thanks again to all of you and I wish you a great weekend of fall viewing ahead! Until next year

Hi Prabal: thank you for posting your fall photos. I'm glad you got to see some color on your trip. If you were on 183 you passed by the Norman Rockwell Museum, hope you went inside! See you next year here on the forum! CT
