Also we are planning to go to jay area and stowe/ smugglers notch. Do you think we can find the foliage good at that time or will it be late? If not which areas are good at that time ? are there any valleys or waterfalls. Could anybody please let me know?

There should be little difference. Stay with your plans. The foliage is running a little late right now.

Whoa, I missed your waterfalls question. There is a waterfall in Troy,Vt. It's called Big Falls. Take route 58 west to route 100 north in Lowell. Take route 100 north to Troy. DO NOT take route 101 to get to Jay Peak. Go pass route 101 and look for the RIVER ROAD on the left just north of the village. It's a dirt road. Go about 6 miles and look for the BROWN ROAD on your right. A little way pass the Brown road, the river comes up real close to the road on the left side. There should be guardrails on the left also. At the end of the guardrails on the left is a small parking area. Park there and take the trail to the falls. There are other trails also. Finish the River Road to route 105 west. Take that to route 101 and then route 242 to get to Jay Peak.

Smuggler's Notch is closed today but it should be open soon if we don't get more snow later. The Notch is always a crap shoot this time of year. Jay Peak should be open.

Just returned from Vermont yesterday - not much foliage to see except in Northeast - Killington area was good.

The colors up there are gorgeous. See my Northeast Kingdom Report.
