Scenic Covered Bridges Recommendations

Ct: That Guide (its really more like a tri-fold map) is called "Vermont Covered Bridges" (subtitled "Illustrated MAP & GUIDE to 107 authentic Vermont Covered Bridges") and is by Hartnett House Map Publishers. I am pretty sure I got it on AMAZON.com

I am in the same boat regarding maps and posts from this forum. I am going to bring my laptop tote minus my laptop and have all my precious posts in there where I will have convenient access to them.

I can't wait for Wednesday. I don't know how to pack as I am sure it will be cooler up there but not as cool as it usually is when we go.

Andy: gotcha! I was looking for a trifold state map not an illustrated guide! I must have driven the staff nuts at the bookstores looking for the wrong thing! Thanks for the clarification!

I just thought I show tell who haven't got a Vermont atlas by Delorme, Jimmapco and Northern cartagraphic, that these atlases have the covered bridges marked on them. The symbols may not be in the exact location, but are close enough.

What a beautiful, crisp, morning and we are not even in Vermont yet....so that is very encouraging to know Jack Frost must be busy painting away up there. Want to thank everyone on this Foliage Forum for taking the time to share, advise and keep this great Foliage Forum going. It's outstanding. Admin, Pwt and Bm and quite a few regulars, we live to check in with you daily. Thanks for leading and showing the "way to go" in Vermont!! Many of you have touched our lives in ways you will never know! Yesterday was worried about AGirl out on her two wheeler!Checked for her three times on the Forum. Relieved, to find this morning, "No news was good news"
I am in the middle of baking. Last night was boiling eggs for a potato salad...we love to picnic along our drives. Hubby asked me to check with (by name!! Bm, Pwt) household names now...

or others for advise on where to pick up that jimmapco map of Vermont which reminds me to ask Ctyanky, to keep looking for the Covered bridge tri fold map even when in Vermont. Whoever finds it first, please post where others may find it.
Folks: word of caution, cooking and sitting down to check this Foliage Forum do not mix well. Have any of you burned boiled eggs?

Last night, while on the Forum, I sniffed something odd. After a few minutes, a defective light bulb finally flashed on in my head! I dashed to my kitchen to not scrambled eggs, boiled eggs or sunny side ups (rather dark side for em)....burned boiled eggs, they were in such a heated rage that as I started to lift the pan to the sink, an egg just "had it with me

and blew its top...lid popped up a bit! and a small piece of egg managed to hit my arm..goodness. Hubby walked in kitchen, gave me a disgusting look but all I had to say was "Who asked me to get on the forum?" (okay, lame excuse but spared my dodging a bullet of a lecture.

Got to get back to my baking; you know why!

May be too late for those of you who are either on the way or leaving this weekend, but I checked Amazon, just for fun. Here's how I did it: Went to Amazon.com and on the top of the page there is a search window. Typed in "Vermont Covered Bridges" and viola: The first in the List is the Guide ($5.95). Second is the Ed Barna Book (btw, Barna is a co-author of the Guide, also). For those that have some time, maybe express mail or something?

Thanks Andy for the information on where to obtain the tri fold foldout for the Vermont Covered Bridges. Will add the Covered Bridges in Vermont guidebook and this tri-fold foldout of the bridges to my holiday wish list.
Indeed will make nice gifts, folks.

Andy: getting my Covered Bridges Book by Barna in two weeks in time for my last two trips and getting the trifold through Amazon. Thanks for the post. Have a wonderful trip to Vermont and can't wait to hear about your travels when you return!
