rains - weekend
I see rains of comin friday and Saturday. Am feeling unsure if I should make or cancel our visit to Vermont 27th - 29th Sep. What do you guys feel about the forecast? Thanks. Prabha
Bm,PWT,Locals,please advise dates
Original plans were to be on road Sept. 30, in Vermont October 1-6, depart Vermont October 7
With latest reports of emerging colors in Northeast Kingdom,
given option would locals suggest we stick to week of October 1st-6th or move to week of 8th-13th to capture some areas in peak colors?
Homebases 3 days in Central Vermont nearby Warren/Waitsfield with a first day trip to see Peacham then Gaps off Route 100
3 days below Route 4
With your experience of living in Vermont, please advise the best you can based on how foliage changes are currently progressing. Take into consideration, if you wanted to take a drive to experience some peak colors, which week mentioned above for those areas mentioned, would you choose. (Wish we had locals' options to just jump in the car and go but for many of us out of state, we do not have that wonderful privilege!

I've been watching the long range weather model for the last two days. The vast majority of the rain from this storm *should* be out of the area by Friday. The weekend may start out a bit damp but should mostly be nice.

I am waiting for your recommendations on best foliage viewing routes to take, roads to wander and stops to make - driving from New York city Saturday morning to Vermont and back Sunday night with night stay at Barton. I hope I am not too early to experience the best! Thanks for your help.

Wow--now there's a blast from the past. He was around when I lived in Vermont in the 70's. Seems like there was another guy that did TV weather out of Burlington with an unusual last name--its on the tip of my tongue, but my old brain just can't dredge it up.

Prabha, my advise is to boogie up there as fast as you can. Colors will be peaking in most of the area. Any road except route 14 should be great. Route 14 was running late last Sunday. If you do Lake Willoughby, be sure to drive the Hinton Hill Road to the top for a great view. Route 114 fron Lyndonville to route 105, just west of Island Pond is a good road to drive. Look for the Newark Road about a mile south of route 105. There should be a green sign saying Job's Pond. Drive that road to the Eagle's Eye Farm and take the Job's Pond access road across from the farm. Great photo-op.

Sorry to Steer off course here, but I woke up in the middle of the night and remembered! It was (I'll butcher the spelling) "Waddy Sarabini"
