Past Peak?
Never seeing anything close to fall colors, confused on the term Past Peak. Having my wedding in Stowe on October 19th and have been told that area will be "Past Peak". Considering my expectations are VERY LOW what am I really going to see? Will the trees be bare? I'd be happy to see colorful leaves on the ground!! How far past "Peak" would that time usually be in Stowe?<P>Considering I'm going to be happy to be getting married the foilage isn't a major issue but interested in what I should be expecting to see.<P>Any posts would be great!! Thanks!

past peak generally means the leaves may still be on the trees, but the best color is gone. Hey, if you miss out in vermont, wait a few weeks and come to alabama...really....we have very good color from about central ala and to the north starting in late oct into the middle of nov. in fact, this is an invitation to head south and enjoy a second fall season. here in the montgomery area we have a lot of bradford pear trees that are beautiful red into the first week of dec.

Past peak means the very best colors are gone. But the trees will still have leaves and color. Acually Oct. 19 will be peak in southern Vermont below route US4.
