Route 114
On our last trip, Route 114 was amazing!! One of my best pics was taken on the right side of the road heading north with a horse and big rustic barn on the hillside. I'm wanting to take that route again but not wanting to go all the way to Island Pond. What would be my best bet to get from Route 114 (midway) over to Glover? Thanks in advance for anyone's suggestions
Re: Route 114
Route 114 could be our favorite road in Vermont, some years the color has just been amazing, never any traffic, and some of the best Fall Colors in the entire world--We still can't believe what we saw back in 2003, a bright cloudy day that brought out extraordinary color there, 2012 and 2014--bright cloudy days are the best, not sunny days, and of course what we never want is fog its our mortal enemy--Rt 232 has also been impressive in most years--and I-91 is one of the best interstates in the country, color or no color

"of course what we never want is fog its our mortal enemy"
Fog is not your enemy. Fog is actually your friend, mood/drama and all that
I love to photograph foliage on foggy days, it usually means the leaves are slightly wet which really brings out the colors

Re: Route 114
That's a beautiful pic!! I am trying to fit everything in I want to do that day which is our busiest day on a 10 day trip. It's a challenge!! I have been to Newark pond and Jobs pond before and they were beautiful but unfortunately we have to keep moving so I'm trying to find the quickest way to get over to Glover to continue the 2nd part of our day. I will be much better when I get my jimapco in a few days. Thanks for everyone's help!

Re: Route 114
With the Willoughby Highlands and I-91 in between Route 114 and Glover, there is really no "quick way" to get from one to the other.
That route with Hinton Hill is beautiful. However, if you want a bit more adventurous route Here are a couple of options.
You can use some back roads over the hills to connect Route 114 .
Option 1 Fastest (Route 114 to 5A to 16)

Option 2 (Route 114 to 5A to 5 to 16):

Option 3 (Route 114 to 5A to 122):
