October 1st Update
Update: October 1st.
Much of northern and central Vermont is displaying color. Expect peak sometime towards the end of this week. If you drive east from Burlington through Stowe, or Jeffersonville and Johnson you will see good color. The only problem in the past two days has been poor light. It has been overcast for the past two days. Below is a link to a 360 degree aerial panorama taken in Smuggler's Notch on Sunday, September 29th. Sunshine would have boasted up the colors!

Re: October 1st Update
Awesome Tim! Confirms what I just related in my post! Wow, seems to have come on faster than folks expected. Heading to Stowe tomorrow for the morning before the heavy rains come. Thanks for this panorama!

The highlands in much of the NEK are starting to peak. Here are some photos from Sunday afternoon between West Danville and Cabot Plains:

Yowzah Tim!!!! Thanks for posting these photos. Love Cabot Plains Road, I went there with Charles a couple of years ago and that back field was on fire. I'll try to convince Phil to go to Cabot tomorrow before we head further. Keep 'em comin! CT

Re: October 1st Update
That looks pretty nice! But man it doesn’t look late this year up there at all. If that was the 30th this seems ahead of 2016, not the 1-2 thought yesterday or the 3-5 behind 2016 it sounded like a week ago. Really should have gone up sat, not sure I can even leave now until thurs, which seems too late plus rooms for weekend will be tough there since that is Columbus Day Weekend. I would relax it all more except outside circumstances.

Fallleaf: check AirB&B, more availability. Most inns are now booked as you said, but also call the ski resorts. Check local farms that rent rooms.

Re: October 1st Update
It was running behind but a few cold nights and the leaves changed almost overnight. There is still a lot of green out there so it should be good through this weekend and through most of next week barring strong winds or driving rain.
