I am driving in from Ohio. Just plan on wandering through VT for the weekend. Has the north already peak?

I was going to concentrate in the Rutland, Woodstock, Killington area? will there be good color there or should I head more north?

Should I make a drive up to Burlington? and or Stowe? or will it be late there?

The Montpelier, Stowe, Waitsfield area would be the best. There area east of Montpelier between route 15 and route US 302 will be great also. Try to find a room early in the day in Stowe or Burlington first. The 2 rest areas on I-89 east of Burlington are run by the local chamber. They should be able to find you a room around Burlington.

Thanks, I am not scared to be stuck in my car if that is what happens, I am just taking this as a crazy road adventure. Stopping in VT on sat and sun and then going on to maine just for a fun relaxing road trip. But thanks for all your help. I will definitely get to the stowe area then.

I'm not sure how you are going to Maine, but route US 2 should be good right to the higher elevations in NH and route 302 should be the same. Both routes are looking great in Vt.
