Good base for exploring Danville-Barnet-Peacham?
Was wondering what would be my best bet for lodging for exploring this area of vermont.

Yikes, thats a tough one. There's not a lot of lodging out there. St. Johnsbury - Lyndonville will probably be packed. Try Montpelier - Barre first. If that don't work out go to Stowe. There is a lot of lodging there.

There is a nice campground in Danbury, we use to camp. In the Peacham area there are several B&B, but I can't remember any names right now.

Pwt,
I'll be in St. Johnsbury, is that close enough to do a leisurely loop through these areas with lots of photo stops?
Thanks for all your help.

Colors around Peacham and Barnet are early right now. If you are staying a few days do the areas north and northwest of St. Johnsbury first and then do Peacham. Right now the best color I saw today is next door in the Groton State Forest.
