Southern Vermont update
I traveled a southern route (Bennington, Manchester, Bondville, Jamaica, Townsend, Bellows Falls) Sunday taking test shots and finding locations for the upcoming color show. As expected green is still dominate, but getting a lighter shade, particularly the east side of Pleasant Valley Road north out of Saxtons River. The smaller maples on the Townsend Common have for the most part turned and show leaf drop.

Fallguy,
That is my favorite drive.
I love all of the diversions you can take on that route. From the Chiselville Covered Bridge in Sunderland to Arlington Green to the quarry in Dorset to The Scott Bridge, there are so many great stops. That is to say nothing of Stratton and Equinox mountains.
Thank you!
Dean

Hi Fallguy! It's nice to see you on the forum! This is a really nice photo showing the fall progression. For those thinking of traveling around there, Grafton and Newfane would be a nice addition along with Chester. I'll be up in this area on Saturday and will make note of the color changes as well. It's usually pretty green when I go around this time but with the cold temps lately, it could be further along. The back roads are beautiful from Chester to Newfane and around Townshend and the town greens are gorgeous!

CT,
Newfane is such a wonderful place to shoot. Just quintessential VT.
Jamaica State and the West River can be some great places to shoot too.

Dean: can you list a few back roads in Jamaica, Newfane or Townshend for me for my trip on Columbus Day weekend? Thank you!

I am a creature of habit so, the list will likely be shortish but, absolutely.
What is your general path (i.e. main roads involved)?

Hi Dean: Short and sweet is fine with me. FIrst stop Newfane, then Dummerston and then Townshend and back to Brattleboro. I love unpaved dirt roads but manageable. Thank you!
