any suggestions for next week (16-19)

I finally got a chance, at the last minute, to visit north east, Vermont. I am really looking forward to experience fall colors.

any recommendations where to see fall colors during 16-19th. From the pictures I have seen, I like panoramic view from mountain sides and/or lakes/river sides. My plan is to drive from Boston towards northern parts of VT but still trying to figure out specific routes and nice locations.

If you have any suggestion please share.

So far I have only seen fall in pictures, I am used tropics where every thing is green around the year. Looking forward to experience fall.

I'd have to say the very northeast part of Vt. will be your best bet. North of St. Johnsbury and east of route 16 is showing some early color. Go to the Burke ski Area in East Burke and take the toll road to the top of the mountain and climb the firetower. Check out Lake Willoughby. Good views there. Route 58 has some good views especially in lowell.

Route US 2 between St. Johnsbury and Lancaster was on the verge of changing last Sunday. The Granby / Victory road was showing early color also. That was route 111 you were on. That road had some great color when I was driving it last year.
