Hi, we went up Pinkham notch last Thur 10/5 and the color was peak! It was a very cloudy day so we didn't have that brillant sun I would of liked. If you've never been there you would say it's BEAUTIFUL! We live in NH and go up every year and have seen some fantastic years of the best colors. This was really pretty, I'd post a picture if I knew how.

Seems to be a lot of naked trees around this year, with spotty color.

I love this VT post. Wish there were one like it for foliage in NH.

We were going to Peacham area today but have family change of plans, is it worth going in a couple of days or will it be over again?

pwt54, bm, Shirley, or anyone out there-

We will be in Stowe for 5 days arriving on Wed. Oct 11-Sun. Oct 15. Would anyone be able to direct me to some nice routes even if it means NH. We are not afraid of putting on miles. I can't imagine going up there and seeing bare naked tress. There must be some places left that are dressed in autumn's finery!!

Thanking you in advance for all the help this forum has supplied...

I would classify the Pinkham Notch area as slightly past peak as of Thursday, October 5 given the large number of bare trees. I saw better color on the eastern section of the Kancamagus Highway, on Route 16 in the general vicinity of Chocorua, and on Route 25 north of Lake Winnipesaukee. I found the information on the New Hampshire foliage report to be fairly accurate for the Great North Woods, White Mountains, and Lakes regions.

Bethel, Maine, was very pretty, too on October 5.
