What would be your suggestions for a one day trip, this week from Manhattan, to view the best peak colors.What would the ideal to and from route be?

We were in NH last weekend but slightly disappointed with many bare or green and most muted color leaves, along Kancamagus highway. Hope we dont have same experience again.Your suggestions will be v helpful. Thanks.

From what I've seen from the posts, southwest Vt is coming along nicely. My suggestion would be to boogie up I-87 north of Albany to exit 7 in Latham. Take NY route 7 east to VT were it becomes VT route 9. Drive route 9 all the way to route 100 north in Wilmington Village and drive route 100 north as far as you can. Then find your best way home using either I-91 in VT or going over to I-87 in NY. ( Are we going to have a Subway Series this year? )
