Thanks to everyone for the advice...too bad we really missed out on everything. Worst vacation in 11 years of marriage, but it wasn't anyone's fault. Listen to this tall tale: First, get off plane in Manchester from St. Louis. I'm running a fever (& still have it 4 days later). Feeling like crap wasn't going to keep me inside though. We headed north towards good color and good hiking, BUT... surprise, surprise--it rained for 3 days. (Like any of you didn't already know that). After swearing things couldn't get worse (tip to all: don't ever say that out loud), we planned to go to Boston today for some history, good food, and sunshine. NOPE!! My husband woke in the night with a stomach bug. The kind where "the facilities" and "the porcelain god" become your home for the day....sorry, it's so hard not to laugh at how horrible this has been. I'm hoping someone will pinch me so I can wake up 6 days ago and start over. We decided we have to come back next fall just to erase this trip from memory. We love Vermont & NH. Thanks for helping us PLAN a great trip. I'll keep it all handy for next time.
