Loop from Stowe to Burlington to Addison

We will be in Stowe next week (Sun-Fri) and thought of driving to Burlington/Winooski area, then driving down Route 7 and 22A to Addison and maybe Chimney Point then driving Route 17 to Route 100 back up to Stowe. Would there be pretty foliage to see along those routes? Are there any points of interests to see? Would anyone know about how long of a drive that would be (of course barring any stops we make along the way)? Would Middlebury also be a good stop to make?

Kelly, See my post in reply to your earlier post today about where to go.
Re. Middlebury - you can easily swing into there from Dead Creek and it's a pretty drive. The Otter Creek Bakery is worth a stop. (Middlebury at the intersection of Routes 30 and 125.) However, if you have time, Fort Ticonderoga is more interesting. Middlebury is very similar to other Vermont towns with white churches. Fort Ticonderoga is unique.

Kelly, are you the Kelly Cass from The Weather Channel, or is this just a login name?

Don't forget the 2 lane covered bridge on Seymour Street in Middlebury.

Thank you for your suggestions. For someone who is not from Vermont, it is so reassuring to read the posts here from others who live and know the area. Thanks again for all your help, it truly is appreciated. We are arriving on Sunday night. I hope the weather clears up a little. Being from the desert of Arizona, any foliage color we see will be a real treat. Again, thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.

I do have another question. Where exactly is Fort Ticonderoga? I have a general map of Vermont, but don't see that listed.

Fort Ticonderoga is in Ticonderoga New York. You can take the Crown Point Bridge on route 17 west of Addison, VT. to get there.
