Hi,

I was planning to be in VT this weekend but I have heard the colors have been dissapointing this year (because of rain and higher temperatures). Can anyone who has been there tell me how they looked? Any idea how they are along the rt 100 all the way upto the Burlington.

Thanks.
Steve

Route 100 north from Warren has good color and is peaking. Route 100 south from Warren to route 125 in Hancock is in bad shape. I'm not sure how it is from route 125 and south. I have heard that route 100 in southern VT. is looking good.

Thank You pwt for your response. We will be staying close to Burlington and plan to head south. What would be the recommended routes by you (for the weekend)? How good are the colors this year in comparision to previous years? Is there a possibility I can still find some good colors? I am not really intimidated by the weather as long as I can find some good colors I will be still glad.

Thank You for taking time to respond.

Steve

Steve- many posts discribe how it was this past weekend including one that I posted. Read back thru them and you'll get some helpful info.

Right now the colors are early in the Champlain Valley where Burlington is located. Route 116 south from route US 2 in South Burlington (just past the Comfort Inn) is showing good early color. Drive route 116 south to the end at route US 7 south in East Middlebury. Turn left and drive route US 7 south to Brandon. As you come into the village of Brandon look for route 73 west on the right side at the top of a left curve. Drive route 73 west to route 30 south in Sudbury and turn left. Drive route 30 south as far as you wish. Route 30 ends in Brattleboro.

pwt -- do you think the Champ valley will eventually "get there" or is it going to be dudsville like some of the other locales?

Strange year...
