We'll be visiting Stowe for several days at the end of the month. We've selected what we HOPE are nice restaurants for our dinners. Does anyone have any opinions on: The Whip, The Partridge Inn or Mr. Pickwick's?

Very good restuarants. You may also want to try the Foxfire Inn for Italian, the Shed, and one of the Von Trapp restuarants.

Thanks for the opinion; it's very difficult deciding on a restaurant just by reading ads in magazines. Someone also suggested to us Michael's on the Hill, which sounds very good to us, along with Winfield's Bistro. At least I know we're on the right track.

Stowe is full of great places to eat. I would also consider Harrison's, which is excellent, and The Red Basil, if you like Thai food and Sushi.

JPM,
You're the second person who has recommended Harrison's to me. I think I may give it a try. Thanks for the suggestion!

You will certainly enjoy all of the restaurants mentioned. I particularly like The Shed. The atmosphere is nice and they have terrific burgers! Many other nice items on the menu also. Mr. Pickwick's Pub is another favorite of mine, especially if you like Bangers and Mashed. It's a casual atmosphere and the food is very good. If you like Northern Italian cuisine, The Villa Tragara is wonderful! Foxfire is also great. Be sure and visit the old fashioned Ice Cream Shoppe behind the quaint shops on the main street. For a more elegant (and a bit pricier) dinner, you can't go wrong at the Top Notch Inn and Trapp Family Lodge. I'm originally from Vermont and these are all of the restaurants that we frequented the most. You'll be happy with any of them. I am heading to Vermont for a visit in mid October also and am very excited about experiencing Fall in Vermont again this year. It has always been my favorite season there. If you are flying, be sure and get a window seat, the view is breathtakingly beautiful! Enjoy your visit to Vermont!

Is "The Three Green Doors" still open and in business?

Suzie,
Mr. Pickwick's is also on my agenda. After a long drive, we figure it's a good place to just kick back, relax and have a good meal.
Thanks for the suggestions; I'm going to search out that ice cream shop!

Are you taking about the Depot Malt Shoppe? They have good burgers, descent fries and about the only place one can get a Lime Rickey soda.
