Greetings from northern Vermont! I am typing this message on my notebook, connected to the net using my cell phone (at 4800 bps!) The weather was a bit rough last night (including, I believe, some snow at the end) but today is gorgeous and the color is INCREDIBLE! I don't know about peak or whatnot, I will just say it is great.
I am in fact on a side road off Hazen's Notch Road about to go up that way. I have had a great time on the dirt roads in the area. For those not afraid of some bumps and maybe a paint chip or two, a couple of great drives I have discovered include Garfield Road out of the Morrisville area (nice views and some ponds) and also Elmore Mountain Road north of Stowe... go in the morning!
Oh, make sure you have an atlas. Even with one I often get lost.
Well that's all for now. Hope you all get a chance to get up here and enjoy it... bring your woolies, it is cold here! --c
