Enjoying the peak color in many parts of the NEK. This morning I photographed sunrise at Marshfield Pond, and had the pleasure of meeting Minnesotaman, it was nice meeting you. We had nice fog at Marshfield Pond since this morning started out in the 30's. After sunrise I went to Noyes Pond in Seyon SP, the color there was peak as well. On the drive from Marshfield to Seyon, the color was close to peak, but not quite. A roadside sign along Rt. 232 informed me that for Groton State Forest "Peak Color Monday 2pm". Yesterday on 10/4 we had heavy rain late afternoon with some wind, so this morning there was some noticeable leaf drop.

Attached are a few shots, Marshfield Pond, Noyes Pond, and color along Rt 114 north of Island Pond

We were in Marshfield today as well and all over Woodbury and Calais and Groton and Seyon State Park! Wow! What a day! Will post soon on yesterday's and today's foliage adventures!

Today was a sparkling fall day for sure. Enjoy! CT

Ed

Great to meet you. Looks like you got some good shots.
After Marshfield I headed up into the NEK, 114, 105, a lot of back roads. Stupendous color.
I also stopped at Job's Pond around 930. The color was the best I have seen there, and I have seen it many times since 2001.
What do you say about Noyes Pond--worth a dawn visit, or a bit to go yet? Did you get to Ricker?

minnesotaman I would say Ricker Pond is at peak color, as is Noyes Pond. I think either or both would make for a good sunrise shoot. It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. I am heading to Jobs Pond this morning for sunrise.

Carol, I have to thank you and Andy so much for your Vermont Foliage photography guide book. Without that book, I probably never would have learned about Jobs Pond, what a wonderful place. And i never would have gotten the opportunity to get this photo from Saturday 10/6 at sunrise. The clouds were spectacular, and the reds on the mountain were so intense that they glowed. In fact I had to reduce saturation in the reds when processing this image, the saturation was so intense that I was afraid people would think I goosed it in phototshop.

The color in the NEK has been fantastic this year, thank you for your advice and help. Much better than this time last year.
