Pholiage Report Phrom Phrantic Phil

We Foliage Fanatics got together at Moss Glens Falls about noon today. They had been out shooting photos early this morning. We all agreed that the foliage had come a long way since this weekend.
Colors are looking nice, but not bright yet. But the early turning stressed trees are peaking. I call a single stressed tree a firecracker and a group a hotspot. There are a lot of firecrackers and hotspots on route 100 from Morrisville south to Hancock. The same can be said of route 125 from Hancock to Ripton. Once you are west of Ripton, you are in the Champlain Valley and it's warmer climate. Foliage is usually later there.
We took the Lincoln Road from Ripton to Lincoln. Colors were generally early, but there was one hotspot that had our photographers scooting like free range chickens. We took the Lincoln Gap Road from Lincoln to Warren. Colors on the Lincoln side were so-so, but the Warren side looked good.
It looks like we will have good color in the Northeast Kingdom area, the Groton/Peacham area and route 100 from Hancock north to Newport.
I'm heading down to Killington tomorrow and will let you know what's up.
