Okay, now that I have some useful information, it's time to post!

My wife and I took a nice trip from NNY into the Northeast Kingdom and to Lewis Pond, which we surely would never have done without my years of lurking on this forum. Foliage and view were awesome! The roads in were fine, with me averaging around 30 mph in my Mazda3. The Overlook Road was a little rough and rocky.

Anyway, the 4 Mile Road is closed until October 6 for replacement of a bridge deck.

am gong to attempt lewis pond overlook tomorrow 10/3, can anyone update me if the bad weather makes the road impassible, or is it still open all the way to the overlook. also, is the overlook situated best for morning photography or later in the afternoon. thanks.
