Can't speak to every year, but last year the Lyndonville/Lake Willoughby areas were very nice around October 3rd. I'm sure they were nice at least a few days before then too. By October 7th or so it was noticeably fading.

Actually we were planning trip for 10/2- 10/3. But from what I see in the foliage report archives of so many previous years in some other website, although it is nice, real peak in the NEK region generally does not come earlier than 7th Oct. Am I right?. Thanks.
peak in NEK not ealier than 7th Oct?

Thanks for your reply. We had almost canceled our trip after going through the previous years' foliage report map archives link in wwwfoliagenetwork.com which indicate peak in NEK every year not before 6th- 7th. But after reading your responses, I feel enthused now to carry on our plans for the trip . We want to witness the best of the show. Can you please suggest the right places to be on 10/2 and 10/3 ? Thank you.

I toured the NEK last Tuesday and from what I've seen 10/2 should be good for foliage. Northeast of Barton will be the best.

You get a point of interest that you load into your GPS. When you drive to that location you will be in an area that has been known to have had excellent foliage viewing in the past.
