Its a great day. I'm on rt 142 South of Wakefield NH. North north west of White Mtn National Forest. Colors are fantastic. Heading further north now.
This is great.

On my last update I indicated I was going to Colebrook, which I did without realizing it. I was so enthralled in the foliage I was not paying attention to where I was. To my surprise I ended up one-half mile from the Canadian border! Yikes…The foliage all the way up NH Rt. 3 must have just peaked. It was spectacular. There were clear skies, partly to cloudy and completely cloud cover throughout the day. The weather setup a perfect mix. I crossed over to Vermont at Canaan and took VT 114 down to Island Pond. I saw a few ponds on the way down, which were gorgeous with color. The foliage is perfect if not at peak.
There is a lot of road pavement being performed on 114. The road crews are well organized and cause almost no delay.
I’m staying Island Pond over night and will meet up with those that are going to the SOV reunion tomorrow morning.
At the hotel I overheard the railroad crew say they were having tomorrow off due to bad weather that is on the way. Hope that is not as bad as they were saying it would be.
Here are some pics. I can’t tell how they really look. I’m on my laptop, which is not calibrated for CS3.

Hey GIC. Good to see your updates. Well, while you came into VT from NH, I came into NH from VT today. I stayed at Island Pond too last night.Exact similar routes in the opposite direction

Thank you for sharing your photos. I'm not sure how far I will make it today, but hoping to loop around Dixville Notch, and then maybe over into Vermont a bit. Decided to postpone the Willoughby/Barton/Stowe areas until tomorrow when it doesn't look quite as rainy. It's good to get an idea of what I'm in for today in terms of color!

My Weather Underground says "partly sunny" early Sunday, then becoming mostly cloudy and back into a chance of rain. Looks like you want to be on-destination for sunrise Sunday.

Thanks for checking the weather - not sure I'll make it out for sunrise, but I plan to be up and out fairly early before it decides to rain again. Hoping to get to the Willoughby, Barton, Irasburg, Hazen's Notch areas at least. If the weather holds out, may head a little further west to Montgomery and Stowe. Cross your fingers!
