My wife and I are going to be in Burlington on Oct 10 and we will be there thur the weekend. I understand that predicting fall color is not an exact science, but I would appreciate some observations from someone who has been in the area a few years as to what we might expect at that time of the fall. Thanks.

A great time for foliage. You may want to head to the center of Vermont for great foliage rides, however. Route 100 from Stowe to Killington is always recommended. Or you could take Rt. 116 south to the northern junction of Rt. 17 and take Rt. 17 east to Rt. 100 and head south to Hancock and take Rt. 125 back to Rt. 116. At that time of year the snowgeese should be stopping at the Dead Creek Wildlife area on Rt. 17 in Addison. It's about a mile west of the junction of Routes 22a and 17 at Addison 4-corners. Quite a show.
