Hi Nancy!

I was in Vermont in the NEK last week and there was no signs of damage to the foliage. From what I heard there was some slight leaf drop Across Southeastern MA and the Maine Coast from Irene, other than that Not much damage to the canopy.
Either weekend should be fine. You always have to "adjust" slightly to get peak anyways. find a place to settle down. Often the best laid plans are no plans. Fake it till we make it. That's what I do. I base in Lincoln NH and seek the peak from there. I stay in a place I can get off season rates even in peak season. That's why I stay in NH and not VT.

Route 105 between Charleston and Island Pond is closed. If you take route 114 from Lyndonville, you'll be okay. There may be delays at the new ( Good grief  ) roundabout at the junction of routes 15 and 100 in Hyde Park.
