Hi all: I'm ready to start my foliage tour today and it is pouring like the dickens here still! UGH. I hope it stops soon so we can enjoy the day driving around at least!

Good thing is that the rivers and waterfalls will be awesome for photographing this year!

GIC: Please come up here soon to clear this mess away!!!!!
Carol: have a safe trip! Can't wait to see you and your husband!
Phil: I"M RESTED! BRING ENERGY DRINK!

I'm curious to hear what you find! We've had only high wind here for the past 24hrs, but no rain. Apparently it's coming this afternoon. Thankfully, damage from wind isn't near what was expected. Hope you find the same! :)

Boston: No wind here yet. Just relentless rain. I know there is color out there; we just may not be able to see too much this a.m. with the low cloud cover and mist and fog and, and, and...... :x

The swath line of heavy rain is approaching here soon and hopefully will cross over quickly so we can at least enjoy the driving tour! Not much you can do about it all! The forecast for the next week looking incredibly awesome so this will be a thing of the past and we'll all be on our way to our foliage quests!

Will report tonight after tour day one. Have a safe trip up!

Rain should end around noon or so.. or at least the heavy rain. Will gradually get better over the next 24 hours.

We've had a lot of wind and rain here and it's still coming down in buckets.

We had a lot of heavy rain here in Tunbridge yesterday, along with high winds last night. Woke this morning to more hard rain with no signs of letting up. Just looking at the hillsides around the house, I would estimate 40 - 50% of the leaves are gone. Hopefully this blows off today and the weekend will be promissing.

Thanks,

Radar suggests the rain should taper off from west to east in northern VT over the next 3 hours.

Ranjana, If you stick to the interstate you won't have flooding problems although the roads will be very wet and you may have to slow down. I'm near Franconia now and it is raining very hard. The forecast is for rain continuing through early afternoon and then intermittent rain for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Clear tomorrow.

Drive carefull and enjoy your trip.

Okay, I take it back. There's another large blob of rain coming up from the south and most of the day looks like a big washout. Sorry folks. :(

Im driving tommorow into VT tonight and want to go on for leaf pepping tomorrow, especially NEK and Great North Woods of NH. Any idea how the situation is in these places ? Is it a good idea to go into NH early, and then come to VT on Sunday ? And also, do we have lot of leaf loss in NEK due to these rains and wind ? Please help :?
