WWO, what help you guys and gals have all been. We are so excited about our trip. Now just trying to process all the good info. Does sound like northeast is best bet but things can really change in a hurry. As I stated before, we are staying in Waitsfied but plan to travel daily to different destinations. We really want to see moose, do you suggest Pittsburg, NH or somewhere in VT for the best opportunity for this? Thanks again for all your help!!

I have seen a lot of moose along route 105 between the South America Pond Road( Wenlock State Forest) and the Notch Pond Road, about a mile east of the above mentioned road. I have also seen many in Pittsburg,NH also. While I haven't seen any there yet, route 114 between Great Averill Pond and Wallace Pond has moose tracks on both sides of the road,
Thanks abby, As I said before, we are so excited. We have visited many places but have never been so excited as we are about this trip. Of course being only 45 years old and already celebrating 25 years of marriage probably has a lot to do with that. I have printed all of the posts here out and we are trying to plan our days. I imagine however we will let the beauty guide us. Thanks again for everyones help.
Enimo: Here are two roads that I pulled from the Captivating Long Views thread for you in Waitsfield. You will be speechless!
Common Road, Waitsfield (take East Warren Road out of town through the covered bridge and turn left on Common Road) Also, many of the barns pictured on the post I made on historic barns in Waitsfield are located on these two roads. I could live here. Wow.
Bragg Hill, Waitsfield: There is a very unique scarecrow display at the crest of this hill that is worth photographing!
Also, you are around the bend from the Appalachian Gap highway 17 which is gorgeous.
If you need dining, the Green Cup is highly recommended. It is in town.
If you are there on a Saturday, be sure to stop at the Waitsfield Farmer's Market. Wow.
You'll love Waitsfield!
