Southern Vermont was at peak one week ago. We were very lucky and got great weather for our short visit. We visited Grafton, Newfane, Woodstock and stayed in the Manchester area. I'd imagine it would still be worth the trip one week later. Good luck.

We were in Burlington just a week ago, and there was great color, but also still a lot of green...so I would think all is not lost. Perhaps someone closer to the action could be more specific.

The Champlain Valley area along Lake Champlain is in a different cilamte zone so the colors will turn later than the rest of the State. Most of the maples have gone by, but the red oaks are turning. Red oaks can be a brilliant red in good years and they look good right now. I'd try the west side of the state especially north of US 4 and west of the Green Mountains. If you are in Addison, Vt. check out the Dead Creek Refuge between route 22A and the New York border for Snow Geese.
