Foliage photography
just a lurker here. thanks to the prolific posters (you know who you are), i was able to visit the state for this first time this past weekend for some foliage. i drove up from nj through rt 91 all the way up to woodstock. i'm surprised some the areas are already past peak but most are still at peak. i visited a couple of covered bridges and farms along the way and took some photographs.
here are some in case you are interested:

thanks for all your comments. i'm a serious amateur and used a canon 1d for the pics. apologies for the waterfall pic, that was the one pic that was not taken vt on my way to a wedding shoot in upstate ny. all other pics were taken in vt. believe it or not, the light was really good that day and the sky color is almost close to what you see in the pics (especially that one looking up the tree - i took that somewhere in woodstock) - i'm sure if you were out last saturday, you would have seen the same. i had a filter on my lens that made the colors pop a little bit and then i did some slight adjustments in photoshop but nothing that would detract from the sky color too much.

It's just a streak of bad years. Happens. The color this year has been excellent.wentworth wrote:Headline: Climate Change Blamed For Fading Foliage---Experts are worried that Vermont's famous colors may not come back from the sub-par Falls of the last 4 years---The temperature has been above average the last few years, from 2004 to 2007--Vermont tree experts say warmer winters are also a problem because Fungi develop hurting he color of the brightest trees--They could be right cuz 2003 the colors were Spectacular in NE Kingdom nd haven't been the same since---Article is in oday's San Francisco Examiner--http://www.examiner.com/a-1000215~Clima ... liage.html

colors
to andy: yes i was using a circular polarizer to get the deep blue skies and minimize reflections. the exact filter i use is the singh-ray colorcombo - it is a polarizer + color enhancer in one filter. it is fairly expensive but i love it to death because i'm primarily a landscape person.
binhly, the Cloudland farm looks like a beautiful postcard!
Love all your pictures that include the red barn, makes such great contrast! Neat to include leaves on the ground in your pictures! Thanks for sharing, if only Vermont was a stone's throw away, would jump right back in the car and return to see what so many people are reporting at such a late date!
