Hi, I am considering new england foliage trip, for oct 26 weekend.is it too late for vermont? what about white mountain in new hampshire?i like typical rustic laid-back new-england style place to stay and experience and photograph wonderful new-england autumn. We miss that in florida. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate. if needed ,i might change the dates to oct 12 weekend,
.thanks.

It might be a bit late for all except extreme southern Vermont. It'll also be late for a good chunk of New Hampshire by the 26th. There is some great color in the Berkshires of Massachusetts just south, but no guarantees on that (I am not as familiar with their precise season dates). The weekend of the 12th should be much better throughout the southern two-thirds of Vermont.
Daniel
[This message has been edited by dkramer (edited 09-25-2002).]

I'm gonna be in Bridgewater the same weekend. Try the Gondola ride at Killington, get to eat lunch at the Peak Resturant, Its my first visit, cant wait.

That weekend will be the hardest weekend to find a room. If Arlene at Seymour Lake Lodge doesn't have a room for you I'd try the Rutland/Killington area or south of there because peak color isn't there that early. There does seem to be openings there. You could also call the Killington Chamber at
802-773-4181 or Manchester at 802-362-2100.

[This message has been edited by pbpub (edited 09-26-2002).]

By then the foliage in norhtner Vt and NH will be on hte ground and in the south the only things that will be really showung are the oaks which turn last. Yo may want trro consider coming a week earlier otherwise consider the Berkshires in W Mass or the Catskills in NY
------------------
Aleks & Michiko Hunter
Old Town Farm Inn
665 Vt.
