Day 2 Options: Killington / Rt 100 / Stowe

I am staying in Mendon Mountainview Lodge over the weekend Oct 7 - 9. With the Lodge as a base, what is the most scenic, photogenic option on Sunday, October 8:
1. Killington Area (peak?!)

2. Take Rt 100 to Stowe. Spend most of day light time on the road. Very little time left for Stowe itself and its surrounding. Head back by I-89 when it gets dark.

3. Bypass most of Rt 100 and take I-89 shortcut to Stowe. Spend more time in Stowe. Rt 108 - Smuggler Notch, may be Mt.Mansfeld. Head back by I-89 when it gets dark.

Thanks for your advice.

Stowe is less than 2 hours from Killington. Even with stops for viewing and picture taking you should have daylight even for the Stowe area (excluding Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory, that place ia always packed.). The ride and hike on Killington is great with the right weather. If the weather is good do Killington. If it is so-so do Stowe. Because of the sun's location it is better to drive route 100 north from Killington than south from Stowe. Take I-89 to get home.

I'd like to send folks on the North Hollow/Town Line Roads between Rochester and Granville but I'm afraid they would get confused. These are mostly dirt roads to boot.

Thanks for your suggestions.

When you say "ride or hike on Killington" do you mean Mt.Killington?
