I will be in St. Johnsbury Saturday night after my visit to White mountains in NH. I am planning to drive in VT on Sunday and go back home to New York the same day. Please suggest me some good routes, Thanks in advance.

That doesn't give you much time. If you are going home on I-91, drive route US 2 west to to I-89 in Montpelier. Take I-89 north to exit 9 in Middlesex. At the end of the ramp turn left and drive down to route US 2 and turn left again. Drive about a mile and look on the right for route 100b. Drive routes 100b and 100 south down to Route US 4. Turn left on route US 4 to get to I-89 south and then pick up I-91 south in White River JCT. If you are using I-87 to get home, turn right on route US 4 and drive that all the way to Fort Ann, NY and take route 149 west at the traffic light to get to I-87.

Thanks PWT. Sounds good. Will you tell me an alternate route if I say that I would like to drive around in Stowe Area till Evening and then Head back to Home?

From St. Johnsbury take route US 2 west to West Danville and turn right on route 15 west. Drive route 15 west to the traffic light in Morrisville and turn left on route 100 south and drive that to Stowe. Then continue route 100 south to route US 4 in Mendon.
