Stowe, VT this weekend (Oct 7-9) color?

My wife and I were planning to camp in Smuggler's Notch this weekend, but now it's looking cold and rainy, and now all of this talk about how warm and late the change is.

Is it going to be almost totally green around Stowe/ Smuggler's Notch this weekend? If it is, which weekend is looking like the peak for that area, and how late do you think there will still be color to see.
Thanks,

Luke

Stowe will be only about a half an hour below peak foliage. Stowe itself will be close to peak. Route 100 from route 15 to route 58 in Lowell was great yesterday. Routes 118 and 109 were great today. You'll be surprised how bright the colors are on a rainy day.

I would agree with PWT. The Stowe area will be close to or at peak this weekend. I'm amazed at how quickly color has come on since Sunday in the Route 100 corridor between Waterbury and Morrisville. There are particularly nice colors in and around Stowe. Lots of reds, yellows and some oranges developing. The view to the west from where I'm located in Morrisville is quite nice with a patchwork of colors brightening by the day. I'm stunned at how quickly it has happened.
