Stowe area waterfalls

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering how the rainfall has been in the Stowe, Vermont area lately? I'd like to go on Wednesday in that area to photograph the Fall colors and to shoot the waterfalls. So hows the water level on Bingham and Moss Glen Falls in Stowe? Anone know?

What kind of color do you think I could expect for that area as well?

Don't know the water levels but overall it has been fairly dry in Vermont the last month. We did have one solid day of rain last week.. otherwise not much.

Rain is in the forecast for this Thu/Fri... at least some. --c

Last year I visited two water falls in Stowe. They are interesting. The moss glen falls is very huge. You would need at least a 28mm to get the whole fall. The other water fall requires some hiking to get to the point of taking snaps. Last year it was not well laid out and I had a difficult time getting to the base.

I visited Bingham Falls last year. It is not marked on the highway. There is a rather large pullout but no signs. One thing to consider...this falls is not in a deciduous forest so you won't be able to shoot this waterfall with any autumn color in it. I will be in Vermont beginning next Saturday for a week and I'm looking for waterfalls surrounded by red, orange and yellow. Bingham Falls isn't that place.

We got a lot of rain up here earlier this week. The falls should be good. The pulloff for Bingham Falls is about a 1/4 mile past The Inn At The Mountain on the Left side of route 108. The Falls in Troy is called Big Falls. It's on the River Road. This road is off route 100 about 1/4 mile north of Troy Village on the left side of the road. The small parking area is just past the Brown Road at the end of the guardrails. Also off this road just past the Bergeron Road and on the left side is the Vielleux Road. There is a red Covered Bridge on this road. You should see it from the River Road. The street sign was missing, so look sharp. Drive through the bridge for the parking area.
