Also, you can see webcams on weather underground (http://www.wunderground.com). Search for any town in vermont, then go to the wundermap, and click the checkbox next to "webcams." These are cameras that have been shared by private citizens. Most of them are in folks' yards, and have trees visible in them.

Killington 360 cam finally clear of fog--Zooming in, you can see some color on the hillside developing near the parking lot

I was watching the Killington summit webcam about 20 minutes after sunrise, as the sun started to burn through the clearing fog among the trees. It was actually pretty spectacular to see.

Texas Aggie there may be hope yet. Due to the cool weather, in the past 3 days my town in Massachusetts went from full green to random trees here and there turning color overnight. And we normally peak around 10/15 to 10/20. Now those trees are probably the stressed ones, but at least some change is finally starting to happen.

heck, it was 65 this morning in Texas. That's "cold" for this time of year. Can't wait to get up there.

...and killington is covered with fog again today. Is that pretty normal for this time of year? Was really hoping next week to travel up the gondolas at Killington and/or Stowe.

That fog is there because it is lightly raining in Killington today. If you are in Vermont for about a week, you should at least get a clear day or two. You may want to look at the Mount Mansfield auto toll road near Stowe, you can drive to the summit. The forest at the top of Smugglers Notch road in Stowe (Rt. 108) can be pretty photogenic if you are there on a rainy day with fog, lots of neat trees, boulders and moss to shoot in the fog.
I photographed Smugglers Notch about 15 years ago on the day after an overnight October snowfall, and it was pure magic.

Yes! I have a conference next Mon-Thurs, then getting to Vermont Friday evening. So basically, today is my last official day of getting any work done for nearly two weeks.
