bm - Looks like the the end is in sight in Addison County. We are headed there tomorrow. Any update would be useful. I am hoping for the best, but not expecting it.

Strong winds and heavy rain in Woodstock in late afternoon, lasting about 25 minutes. It was too late in the day to see the effect.

Thanks. We are coming up 89 from Boston, probably over Bethel Mountain, up 100 and over the MIddlebury Gap. That should give us a good idea of conditions for exploring on Wednesday.

We will be headed over from the White Mountain area on Wednesday, with lodging Wednesday night in Killington. The original plan was to work our way over to Stowe and then down the 100 south from there. In light of the rain and winds we were going to cut down and pick up the 100 around Waitsfield.

Now I'm rethinking even that plan and wondering if there will be any leaves left to see along 100 between Waitsfield and Killington. Would it make more sense just to abandon the project and take 91 down to White River and then take 4 across through Woodstock? Is there anything worth touring north of Killington / Woodstock, and if so, where? Thanks!

Thanks for the info, and I'll certainly be checking in tomorrow for more updates. Which is likely to have more color and leaves still on trees - 100 from Waitsfield to Killington, or the gap roads across it, such as Lincoln Gap and 125?

We came from 107/12 over Bethel Mountain to 100, up 100 to Hancock and over 125 to East Middlebury. There were spots of decent color but there were also areas that were more than 50% bare and some almost completely gone. The NE facing hills that missed the brunt of the storm were the best viewing. We were only on Route 100 from Rochester to Hancock, but it was mostly disappointing. There was some good color, but pretty spotty. We started seeing decent color coming down from the Middlebury Gap to Ripton. Good color starting to develop along 116, although still a ways to go. There did not seem to be much rain/wind damage in the hills from East Middlebury to Bristol on 116. Colors mostly yellow/gold/rust. Very little bright red. From a distance it looks like areas around Mt Abe were developing pretty well. Will check tomorrow. Good views late in the day from the Middlebury golf course, but nothing exceptional. Tomorrow e are going to concentrate on the Eastern side of Champlain Valley and slightly up into the mountains.
