Re: Strange foliage year

They do have good donuts! If anyone is interested they are located on Route 100 North in Morrisville next to the Agway and just before the Route 15 intersection. We just got home after driving to Stowe and back. I have to say that Stagecoach Road was still quite nice even with the pouring rain. It w...

Strange foliage year

Many locals I've talked to, who have lived in this area for years, have told me this is the strangest or the worst foliage year they can remember. However, with that said, the Morrisville-Stowe area still has nice color at lower elevations. It seems to have brightened again during the past two days....

Peak foliage- Lamoille County

I think we're pretty much at peak foliage today around the Stowe-Morrisville area. Although the colors don't seem as bright as normal, they are still quite impressive. Lots of oranges and yellows. Re: Stowe, VT this weekend (Oct 7-9) color?

I would agree with PWT. The Stowe area will be close to or at peak this weekend. I'm amazed at how quickly color has come on since Sunday in the Route 100 corridor between Waterbury and Morrisville. There are particularly nice colors in and around Stowe. Lots of reds, yellows and some oranges develo...

Sept. 26 Color Report- Lamoille Cty.

Foliage is no doubt about a week or so behind schedule this year. I would imagine this is due to the warm weather. We had light frost and temps in the 30's Friday and Saturday nights so that should trigger more color change. A drive on Route 15 from Morrisville to Essex Center revealed early color c...

Early Color Report

I have noticed during the past two days some early color change along Route 100 between Morrisville and Waterbury. Although the changes are still quite subtle, there are a few isolated red maples that are turning and some stressed sugar maples just starting. I think the chilly nights over the weeken...

Re: Stowe restaurants

Stowe is full of great places to eat. I would also consider Harrison's, which is excellent, and The Red Basil, if you like Thai food and Sushi.
