Well, I am coming up earlier than usual this year (Oct 7-9th) and was wondering with all the variations in leaf progress due to elevation differences, can people recommend where "not" to go. going between routes 100 & 7.....how would routes 17, 125 & 73 look?

Are these what is referred to as the GAP roads? Too late for these since they are higher up?

I got 2 nights in Rutland as the base of operations.

Any suggested driving routes? Streams, foliage, waterfalls...I'll photograph them all!

Instead of indicating where I will be for that time, I am actually wide open as to where I need to be to capture the best foliage.

i appreciate the suggestions. I tend to think southern VT, but just not sure where I should book a room.

I will be in Rutland Oct. 12 - 14. Has the rain changed how things are progressing? Are my best bets for my photography still slightly North and east of Rutland for these dates?

Or am I looking to go south and in the higher elevations down there?

I always thought they had electric lighting in them at night, so that was my angle on perhaps using thus lighting to augment the scene.

I was thinking about doing some of my covered bridges photos at dusk. Depending on how the bridges are lit, the photos could be interesting. I am staying up in Rutland next week and wanted to know if there are opinions on what area bridges might be the best (based upon their lighting, etc.)to attemp...

If I visit the wildlife Refuge and hoping to have the sun on my back for photography, which section of the refuge is my best bet for good subjects not too disatnt from my lenses?

If in the morning (shoot from the east side) or in the afternoon (shooting from the west)?

I pushed back my 3 days in VT until Oct 20, 21 & 22. I am thinking I should be staying in Bennington or Brattleboro. Any comments if I will miss the peak for that area or does the timing sound right? Also, what city would you pick as the best place for maximum exposure...Brattle or Benn ?? Thx....Rick
