Bah. I think I officially give up. While it is true that colors look brighter when out of direct sun for photorgraphy, there is a difference between cloudy and dark and stormy.
If it does rain every day I'm in VT/NH, I'm going to consider myself cursed. Two years in a row.
Bah.

Re: Should I delay trip from 10/5 to 10/13?
Don't panic. Take a look at this link , which has been posted a lot here. Taken only a couple of days ago, it shows color, but it certainly not peak color. If you are coming 5 days from now, I would think things would be about perfect. And if it makes you feel any better, I moved my trip from from O...

Re: October 20 - 21
Actually, from the reports and pictures I've seen so far, Oct 20-21 may be about peak. (I'll be in the area Oct 10-13 and I think I might see mostly green, sadly.) I'm sure you will get other suggestions from people that live in the area but I will throw two out there. I visited last year and found ...

Re: Rescheduling Trip
Replying to my own post, but I thought I'd post my decision, in case others were worrying about the same thing. After reading posts on this forum, reports here for New Hampshire, and here for Maine, I decided it was wisest to delay my trip. I'll now be in the Northern Kingdom region Oct 10-11 and in...

Rescheduling Trip
My original plans were for a NE fall colors trip in the Northeast Kingdom of VT area (Oct 2-3) and in the White Mountains of NH area (Oct 4-5). When moderators such as "bm" as asking in other posts if there is any color in the northeast kingdom yet and it is already Sept 27, I start to worry. I thin...

Re: GPS, Photography and Fall Colors
Thanks for the advice. Follow-up question: Last year I was in the area Oct 9-12. Driving through the White Mountain region, things seemed just a little past peak in a few places. So this year I planned the trip for Oct 1-6. Now I'm reading stories about unseasonably warm temperatures and a late chan...

GPS, Photography and Fall Colors
Despite what was described as poor conditions, I had a great time last year on a photo vacation to VT, NH and ME. So much so that I'm returning this year in hopes of catching sunny skies. I'm flying into Manchester, but will be staying near Burlington, VT October 2-3 and near Lincoln, NH October 4-5...
