Re: Who Is Planning An Autumn Trip to VT in 2012?
Unfortunately we can't make it AGAIN this year. I am extremely disappointed. That's 2 years in a row sans Vermont. I may go into withdrawal!

Re: Who Is Planning An Autumn Trip to VT in 2012?
We're staying in Waterbury again 10/5 - 10/12. I'd love to do the chairlift at Sugarbush with you. My hubby isn't too fond of heights and my daughter is too little so I never get to do it. I could leave them behind and come with you two! LOVE Waitsfield!

Re: Tossing Around Ideas for VT Fall Foliage Meetup - 10/4/1
Too early for us again, sorry. We won't arrive until the 5th, and probably not be up for doing much of anything until the 6th. Maybe someday we'll time it right.

Re: Warm Weather Shortens VT Sugaring Season: BFP 3.22.12
We had the same issue here in NY. But interesting, we went to a maple sugaring event locally and were told that while the season was shorter here, that it was just as fruitful as ever because they got more sap than usual, just in a shorter time period.??? Maybe we'll be buying our supply in NY again...

All booked for October, 2012
As I sit here sniffling and hacking up a lung, recovering from the flu, I am lifting my spirits by starting to plan for our trip to Vermont this fall. Finished emailing with the place we stay to book our rental house (this will be our 4th time, same house - beautiful timber frame - LOVE it!) for the...

Great deal for Bromley View Inn from Livingsocial
If you're looking for a room and aren't signed up for Livingsocial you should subscribe and see if you can get this deal. I just got an email from them about a deal for staying at the Bromley View Inn in Bondville. It says its $130 for two weeknights or $160 for two weekend nights (for two people in...

Re: Irene - big damage expected
I hope all of you in Irene's path stay safe. Scary stuff. I will take a nasty blizzard any day over a hurricane. Personally I'm headed to DC, then to MD, Western shore of the Chesapeake Bay next weekend for a wedding right on the beach. Hope the venue is still standing. We had considered renting a h...

Re: Foliage Issue
I was having separation anxiety as I leafed through the pages of my Yankee yesterday, especially the NE Kingdom article. I'm with you...withdrawal from not being there at all this year was felt acutely last night. *sigh*

Driving route suggestion?
Ok, so I admit this is not a foliage question. But I couldn't think of a more knowledgeable bunch when it comes to knowing Vermont roads so I'm going to ask anyway. A good friend's daughter graduated from college and moved to Burlington from central NY yesterday for her first job. The family is VERY...

Great place to stay in Waterbury
Hi all! Unfortunately we won't be visiting Vermont this Fall. Boooo! First time we haven't been up since 2006. The stars are just not aligning for us this year. And though I'm pretty bummed about it, I thought I would be nice and share info. on the house we have rented several times. Its a beautiful...

I'm hoping we'll head down to the Addison/Vergennes area before we go home since I'd like to stop at Dead Creek finally...happy to hear things are looking good there. We were also thinking of heading to Woodstock the middle of the week now that the Columbus Day traffic should be slowing down. Any id...

The photos are from every year between 2004-2009 with the exception of 2005. That was a pretty rough Fall for us. I was in the middle cancer treatments and my daughter was just a baby so travel wasn't an option. But 2006 was quite the celebration for us! As you're scrolling through them I put the da...

Some of my favorite Vermont photos
So, I think this will work. I have a bunch of photos uploaded to Facebook. You don't have to have a Facebook account to view them. Just cut and paste the public address I pasted below, click on the first photo and continue on. Don't try to "view album" - it won't let you do that without signing in. ...
