Walking/Hiking Trail around Killington and Montpelier

Can anyone recommend a walking/hiking trail for my parent? We are going to Killington this weekend and drive up to Montpelier. This is our first time in Vermont.

Hello, I will leave from New York City on Saturday morning, Oct 11th, and stay 2 nights in Rutland return on Monday, Oct 13th. Can anyone suggest a driving router for scenic ride?
