Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!

Hello CT, We were in Vermont from 10/01 to 10/04. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate for the tram ride, lots of clouds and rain. We still had a great time though. I finally got to see lake willoughby and the southern end of the lake was a pretty spectacular sight. Some of the back roads aro...

Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!

Perfect weather for hiking and festivals today. I'm sure you had a great time. I have been to mehurons market before but didn't go to the deli, thanks for the tip. I have done bragg hill rd and common rd before, which were awesome. I have not done the blueberry lake area. Are there some nice back ro...

Cool, sounds good for lunch after the tram ride. We are staying 1 night in waitsfield, so if you have ideas, I'd love to hear them. We have been to waitsfield before. Our favorite places to eat are American flatbread and mad taco.

Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!

Thanks so much for the great advice and your perspective on the differences between the two rides. Those 360 views that you talked about in Jay sound amazing, so I think we will do that one. The one in stowe is pretty expensive in my opinion too. Fingers crossed for clear skies and great colors. If ...

Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!

Ok, thank you. I will check out the link. My wife wants to do a gondola ride. We are staying in burke and the two closest I could find are the jay peak tram and the stowe gondola. Have you done either of these? They both look good. Is one better than the other?

Re: Two of My Favorite VT Foliage Festivals on Tap For This Autumn!

We've been to the newfane and burke festivals before and enjoyed them. Thinking of going to the autumn on the green festival as we will be in the nek the first weekend in October. Is it as good as those two? It looks pretty good from what I've read.

Thank you

Hello ctyanky,

I haven't tried cilantro before, thanks for the recommendation. I pass through manchester when I go to the Vermont country store in weston, so I'll have to check it out.

Re: Your favorite cannot miss place to eat

Here are a some of my favorites Trattoria la fiesta - delicious italian food in Stowe American Flatbread - wood fired pizza in Waitsfield. Love watching them throw the pies in a wood fired oven. Mad taco - wouldn't have thought I could get great mexican food in vermont, but this place is great. I've...

Re: Upstate NY to Franconia NH with stop in vt

Thank you to everyone for the wonderful tips. The link did work Carol, I agree getting off the highway makes for a better trip. I've never been to the nek before, I'm excited to check it out.

Tim, I will be sure to check out your photography at the festival and those back roads you mentioned.

Re: Upstate NY to Franconia NH with stop in vt

Thank You for the great info. Are there are any photo ops on route 2? As we get close to east burke, is it worth getting off 114 and taking darling hill rd? I've read that is a scenic back road.
