Woodstock/Killington color report
Day 1 of my trip up here and I'm enjoying the unseasonably warm weather (wearing shorts in downtown Woodstock) but disappointed in the lack of color. Took the gondola up Killington, and while the view was spectacular, the color just wasn't there. Very burnt looking. Same thing around Woodstock, the ...

Re: morning color near Killington - Saturday AM
I was there today around 1 PM. Took the gondola to the top and hiked a little bit to the very top to be greeted by a gorgeous view, but all the color I saw was green and brown. The trees just looked burnt. Disappointed in color.

How to get there and openings
I'm headed up to the Woodstock area this weekend and have some locations that I want to drive around for some color. I'm planning on doing Sugarbush Farm and Cloudland Road if it's open again, but here are some areas I'm having trouble with finding: Bethel Mountain Road between Rochester and Bethel ...

Awesome shots! I'm still kind of surprised at how much green I see up there still.

Re: WHERE IS THE COLOR???
If you look around various posts about NH, you'll see my suggestions. But to paraphrase, Chutter's in Littleton, The Rock Estate in Bethlehem, NH, and the Mt. Washington Hotel are all stops you should go to. And the trips along the way are quite beauteous.

Re: I'm going to NH today (gasp) with the King!
I'm really glad people talk about NH on here. This is the best forum for foliage, and I'm glad to see it's not limited to VT. I'm always up for new adventures, both in VT and it's upside-down neighbor.

Re: Mt. Washington Auto Road
The auto road is something you just have to keep up to date on a day by day basis. The cog is always a great alternative. Usually around that time you're going to be up there color should be very nice. The top of Mt. Washington should see some rime by that time as well, since it's already "frosted" ...

Re: Anyone have a report on the Franconia Notch area?
I frequent Bretton Woods' website, and the pictures they're posting show a lot of turning foliage. I still see a lot of green, but it's getting there.

Re: Excursion Planning
pwt54: Thanks for the heads up. I'm a little confused where Moore's is though. Is it on Cloudland Road? Andy: I went to the Woodstock area last year around Columbus Day weekend and I drove on Cloudland Road, that's why I want to do it again. I was disappointed with the color because I think everythi...

Re: First Trip To Vermont! (itenerary help)
PWT-You mentioned that the colors are peaking on the "Kanc"! Already!!! We will be arriving in Littleton, NH on October 5th. I know this is the SOV Forum and I am a Vermont girl but I am booked into NH (gasp) this year. How do you think that area will hold out for Oct 5th - Oct 8th and where would ...

Excursion Planning
Hello all! I will be in White River Junction Oct. 8-10 and hoping the foliage will still be pretty good. Will I have any luck with timing? I know Woodstock and Queechee are nearby and plan on stopping by, but what other places should I hit up while I'm in the area? I'm also looking for some great sc...

Re: First Trip To Vermont! (itenerary help)
I can help you out with your Monday schedule. The "Kanc" is a great scenic route, but you're going a lot out of your way to get to Kennebunk from Woodstock that way. I'm assuming you have all day since I think you mentioned getting to Maine for dinner, but it's worth it. That part of NH is definitel...

Woodstock/Quechee
This Columbus Day weekend my family and I are staying the night up near Woodstock. We ended up getting a hotel a half hour away in Hanover, NH, but what would you guys recommend for a good scenic route around that area? We have to drive a bit to get into town anyway, so we're bound to take some deto...

Weston/Quechee
Hello all. A friend and I were going to drive up to the Vermont Country Store in Weston, VT the weekend of Oct. 16. Will this be a good time to see the foliage? I hope it won't be too far past peak. Also, what are some good driving routes that you would suggest for the area? We were planning on doin...
