During my limited experience with fall foliage, I feel this year was the most disappointing. I was here in New England during fall in 2007,2008, 2009 and 2010. 2010 was surely the most disappointing. 2008 was the best year in my personal opinion :(

Hope you find some good color in the White Mountains. The drive home through Franconia Notch today was rather disappointing. I'm glad I opted to go back into VT this morning/afternoon instead of spending the day in the Franconia area. Looked like there was a lot of leaf loss and what was there was ...

I would have to agree with you on the 3 Connecticut Lakes Region in the Great North Woods. Mind blowing. We are taking the Burke Mountain Toll Road today and heading up to the Jay Peak Tram Ride. Hope the rest of your trip in NH is rewarding! Don't expect too much from Burke Mountain toll road eith...

Disappointed this year

Well, I have to say I was overall disappointed with NEK this year. We started on 114 from East Burke, took the Burke Mountain Toll road, then took 105 E to the NH border, then 102 N till we got onto Canaan and subsequently to NH. I have to say that I was disappointed. Lots of leaf loss, some tress at...

Im driving tommorow into VT tonight and want to go on for leaf pepping tomorrow, especially NEK and Great North Woods of NH. Any idea how the situation is in these places ? Is it a good idea to go into NH early, and then come to VT on Sunday ? And also, do we have lot of leaf loss in NEK due to thes...

Air rides in Vermont/NH

Any idea if we can get air rides (helicopter or gas balloon or whatever) for fall foliage views in Vermont or NH, at a decent price ? I guess fall foliage would look stunning from the air and just wanted to check if there is any such possibility in Vermont or NH. Thanks in advance

Wentworth, I have seen your pics and really liked them. Thanks for sharing. abby and Andy, to answer y...

GIC, I don't think I got stuck up much on 114. So, you need not be sorry for me :D :D :D What was slightly frustrating for me is, why are they doing the road work in the peak season? Don't they know that these roads would be used the maximun during the fall foliage ? Why don't they do it earlier ? :...

Well, I have to admit that I don't remember it. There has been too much driving on our part in the last 2 days

The only thing I remember well on 145 was Beaver Brook Falls, which were good. :D

Vermont-Northern NH updates

Yesterday's drive : Came into VT via US-4 from the NY side. Early part of US-4 started turning and is far from peak. It got slightly better getting to Rutland. Went to Killington via Rt 100. Rt 100 from Killington to Stockbridge was good and is near peak. Killngton was also very good and should be ...
